Individual Therapy

Looking for a therapist can be frustrating and/or stressful, especially when you or a loved one is going through a tough time. I provide a judgement-free and compassionate environment for my clients. My approach to working with individuals is to listen to and understand how you are feeling about your life. I like to have everything out on the table so we can look at it together and find a way to approach your struggles, that works for you. I do not tell my clients what to do or how to live their lives. Every person is different and does not experience any one situation the same. Therefore, I believe there is not one solution for any two people. Together, we can work towards you having the life that you want.

Family Therapy

Approaching therapy with the family altogether can be a great way to achieve a happier dynamic. Some people may choose to start with individual therapy and decide that they would like to bring one, or more than one, family member with them to their sessions. Having multiple members of the family unit present for therapy can help the therapeutic process in many ways. Specifically, it can help clear up any misinterpretations or assumptions that have transpired. Furthermore, having other family members present can help prevent miscommunications that may often occur between you and your relative(s) when having a discussion.

I am happy to work with family members once or as many times as the individual client would like. Additionally, working as a family from the beginning of therapy is a great option. While coming to therapy can be very helpful to people it is important to remember that you get out of therapy, what you put into it. Having multiple family members present can be a useful approach in mending relationships, however, it is important to discuss with your loved one(s) their level of willingness when it comes to therapy.

Whether you are a concerned parent who is struggling to communicate or understand your child or an adult who would like to have a better relationship with a specific family member, it is never too late to try to repair or improve that bond.
